Nectar Publishing
Advancing Caribbean Literature
caribbean writers alliance: cwa
If you want to go fast, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together. -African proverb
Mission
Nectar Publishing was established in 2014 to advance the availability of literature with a Caribbean scope or origin. CWA is an informal collaboration of people who enjoy literature, writing and who have ties with Caribbean cultures. This collaboration promotes, encourages and supports aspiring and experienced writers. Through CWA activities such as collective publication projects, (virtual) meetings, public readings, small critique groups, digital forums, courses, writers’ contests, and interaction with schools and civic organizations, CWA members hope to develop and stimulate more creative expression through the written word.
Caribbean locals, diaspora and avid supporters are eligible.
Become a CWA member
We welcome new CWA members to further the mission and to grow the Caribbean literary network. Becoming a member has benefits and can be as active or passive as you like. Written works of Caribbean authors still fall in the category of the under represented. The historic trade routes have provided an inheritance of colorful, cultural diversity in the Caribbean. While we celebrate this, we also realize that increasing the volume of literature with a Caribbean orientation is necessary to preserve and cherish our cultural identities, languages and values. We invite members to collaborate on publication projects and to help advocate the visibility of Caribbean literature. Becoming a member is currently free of charge.
Devotional Writing for Women by Women
Pro Bono Project
Join our team of pro bono writers for this new publication project. Are you a woman of Christian faith and do you enjoy journaling, creative writing and sharing biblical encouragement? Nectar Publishing is now accepting submissions for the production of a compiled devotional book by Caribbean women. To apply for the writing team submit a title, 1 bible verse and an inspiring short essay of 500 words or less in English. After production costs, all proceeds will fund the publisher's grant program for stimulating excellent early childhood (daycare) centers. Let us hear from you!
